About Us

Hello, My name is Sherry Grant. I have two boys, Dylan age 10 and Briggs age 7. My  sons and I started our rabbitry about 3 1/2 years ago.  The boys  tragically lost 3 of their pet rabbits right after Christmas.  We let the bunnies be too free and a few stray dogs decided to make them their lunch. We kind of got into the replacement mode and well, here we are. It's kind of like Potato Chips, you can't have just one!

Our family loves animals and instead of buying the boys more toys, we end up with more animals. Hopefully, we have learned to just save our money. The boys definitly don't need more toys and we don't have room for more animals, except for rabbits..  My husband's position in our rabbitry  when we first started was the design end of it. Now, a few years into it, and lots of  wasted staples and sweat, we no longer design custom cages but instead purchase them. Much much easier and cheaper. He helps with daily feedings and I believe enjoys it. My boys take care of the daily chores most of the time and loving and  fighting over the bunnies. And I am SUPER BUNNY and I do all the rest !

Our cocker spaniel was our first dog when we ventured into bunny land. Bella was raised inside our home with our 1st lionhead, Olivia.  So naturally, she became the security guard. And that's how we came up with the name for our rabbitry, The Hare and the Hound..

Then came Ginnie, our "designer dog". HA..  And one day about 1 1/2 years ago, came a trespasser named Bear. He is a great pyrenees. He wandered into our yard and never left. He actually is the Best dog we have ever had. He guards the rabbits and our children!

My son Dylan just had to have chickens last spring  so now we have 10 chickens and 1 rooster and lots of fresh eggs..

This past fall we purchased our first trio of netherland dwarfs and a pair of english angora's to add to our rabbitry. I just love the angora's. They are definitley what you call a "lap dog;" or bunny.

And a HORSE of course! Dylan's Horse (Tafee) stays at Papa and Gamma's house (Grandparents) because we can't have farm animals where we live. (ha ha)  Just Bunz!!

We use to live in the country not in a subdivison when the boys were born. After Dylan turned 3 and Briggs was born we started building our first house in the country in a subdivision. Thinking it would be nice to have neighbors and we could walk the neighborhood. Well, we were wrong. Our hopes are to one day talk their Daddy into moving out of the neighborhood, so we can have all the animals we want.
