About Us
Hello, My name is Sherry Grant. I have two boys, Dylan age 8 and Briggs age 5. My sons and I started our rabbitry not so long ago. The boys lost 3 of their pet rabbits right after Christmas 2006. We kind of got into the replacement mode and well, here we are. It's kind of like Potato Chips, you can't have just one!
Our family loves animals and instead of buying the boys more toys, we end up with more animals. My husband's position in our rabbitry is the design and building of cages. My boys take care of the daily chores and loving and handling of the bunnies.
 Our cocker spaniel, Bella has been raised around the bunnies. So naturally, she is their security guard. And that's how we came up with the name for our rabbitry, The Hare and the Hound..In addition to our rabbits and Bella, we have 3 more dogs. Brande, Bella's deputy and Ginnie, first officer. We have just recently added our LAST dog, Bear. He venured here on his own. He is a Purebred Great Pyrnees. We also added last year a KITTEN, Kitkat! Inside we have 2 frogs, a bunch of fish and 2 guinea pigs.
And a HORSE of course! Dylan's Horse stays at his Grandparents house because we can't have farm animals where we live.
We use to live in the country not in a subdivison when the boys were born. After Dylan turned 3 and Briggs was born we started building our first house in the country in a subdivision. Thinking it would be nice to have neighbors and we could walk the neighborhood. Well, we were wrong. Our hopes are to one day talk their Daddy into moving out of the neighborhood, so we can have all the animals we want.
